Born in Santa Fe, Argentina in 1998, the trombonist Damián Stepaniuk began his musical studies with Prof. Rubén Carughi at the local music acadermy of his hometown. In 2004-2005 he was solo trombonist of the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Tucumán, Argentina. From 2007-2009 he was solo trombonist of the wind ensemble of the province of Córdoba, Argentina. Stepaniuk is the 2004 winner of the Mozarteum Prize of the City of Santa Fe. 2010-2014 he studied with Prof. Eckhard Treichel at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule Düsseldorf. There he participated in numerous master classes and youth programs, including Trombonanza, Argentina, International Ensemble Modern Academy, European Workshop for Contemporary Music. He has played with different ensembles and orchestras such as the Studio Musikfabrik, Rias Young Orchestra, Octans Ensemble, Klangforum. As a soloist he played with Octans Ensemble, Santa Fe Young Orchestra, Wind Ensemble of Córdoba Concervatorium, among others. Since September 2014 he has been studying with Prof. Mike Svoboda at the Music Academy Basel. 2012 to 2014 he was a trombonist of Octans Ensemble. Stepaniuk is very fond of playing duos with accordion.
